All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Christians are to put on the “shield of faith” to quench to the fiery darts of the wicked. My Sword & Shield is designed to strengthen your shield of faith. The most dangerous (and insidious) dart of the wicked a dart that is dedicated to attacking the word of God! This fiery dart is fuelled mainly by “scholarship” without faith and oftentimes pierces Christians that haven’t taken “the shield of faith” without them knowing. One shot of this dart convinces Christians that there can never be a perfect Bible. It is extremely effective that most Christians would consider the proposition of a perfect Bible very foolish. However, the fact is that all Scripture is given that we may be perfect and thoroughly furnished unto all good works. The questions then that must be answered are:
1.) Will God expect you to be thoroughly perfected unto all good works without having all Scripture?
2.) Will God expect you to be thoroughly perfected by imperfect Scripture?
3.) If the Bible in your hands isn’t perfect, can it be the words of a perfect God?
The answers of course are a resounding no, “God forbid”, and another emphatic no! If it is expected that we may not agree perfectly about everything the Bible means, let me just say that it is a disgrace for Bible-believers to not agree 100% on what the Bible says. There is no point in talking about what it means if we cannot agree on what it says.

We accept the Bible as the Word of God by faith, but this is not a blind faith without supporting evidence. My Sword & Shield also approaches this issue as a matter of fact! The primary fact that the modern Christian must consider is that all Bibles do not say nor teach the same thing. In fact, modern versions oppose to the King James Bible in many vital areas of the Christian faith in both the Old Testament and the New Testament. Most Christians believe that modern versions are simply updates of the language of the King James Bible to make it easier to understand, but this is not true. It is not the intent of My Sword & Shield to attack fellow Christians for their beliefs, but to enable users to make informed decisions regarding something as important as the word of God, by simply providing them with the facts. We are to esteem the words of God more than our necessary food, but you must first be able to discern what is the word of God and where it is.
